Why Join?

Step into an intimate, hands-on workshop with artist and tutor Hannah Turner-Duffin, exploring the medium of paint in this experimental painting and drawing workshop.

What to Expect

Taught in english and suitable for beginners. All our tutors are qualified to Masters level or the equivalent in experience and are then trained to the highest standards. Materials included but are not limited to a generous array of excellent quality dry colours in pastels, pencils and charcoal, ink and various types of paper all chosen by the artist and provided by the Burnt Sienna studio inclusive of the fee.

We always warm up gently in the studio with a coffee and a croissant :) … then on to the task of learning, looking and creating! Beginning with experimental observational drawing exercises students will be guided through explorative tasks working from a model in the morning whereby you will be encouraged to experiment and look anew with a focus on rhythm, pattern and mark-making; in the afternoon you will develop these preliminary works into your own mixed media pieces and begin to develop your own process led practice; working in techniques including; drawing, collage and painting in a wide range of materials.

Hannah’s practice whilst rooted in painting, employs experiential ritualistic processes; weaving craft and fine art techniques and processes together; exploring and experimenting with possibilities, she brings this playful exciting methodology into her teaching encouraging you to really push past their expectations and go on your own experimental journey.

Materials

All basic materials are provided. Feel free to bring your own if you’d like to explore additional media. A packed lunch is optional.
