Brush basics - Tutorial 2
Brushes for oil painting can feel over whelming to say the least, in options that you can choose from and price. Just keep in mind if your a beginner or taking our foundation course you only need a few to start with. I am recommending: 0, 2, 4 and 8. I have had some of my favourite brushes for over 20 years and they shape as the years go by, some into little stubs that I use regularly. So take a look at your budget perhaps start with 2 brushes a 2 and 6 Long handled or go for the set of 0,2,4 and 6. Finer the brush the more paint it can hold the longer the strokes can be! The longer it takes to clean. IMPORTANT: Brushes need cleaning and caring for. We teach this as part of the foundation course however if your struggling I can offer free advice too. Olive oil soap all the way. #brushesforoilpainting Seen here @rosemarybrushes #burntsiennaberlin #artschoolberlin #brushbasics #investinpainting @louisethomas1984
